HC Deb 06 November 1908 vol 195 c1555
MR. TILLETT (Norwich)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he can see his way to amend the regulations relating to the award of the Territorial efficiency medals, so as to enable an officer who has served some portion of his qualifying service in the ranks to obtain such medal.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) A Territorial officer is awarded a decoration for long and meritorious service, and service in the ranks reckons towards the qualifying service at the rate of half the time so served. The grant of this decoration is published in Army Order 268 of this month.
