HC Deb 06 November 1908 vol 195 c1554
LORD R. CECIL (Marylebone, E.)

To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer under what statutory provision a pension committee in London has been appointed by the county council instead of pension committees by the Metropolitan borough Councils.

(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) Under the provisions of 8 Edw. VII., c. 40, Section 8 (1), I am advised that the term "borough" in that subsection does not include a "Metropolitan borough" as created by the London Government Act.
