HC Deb 06 November 1908 vol 195 c1554
MR. COURTHOPE (Sussex, Rye)

To ask the Secretary of State for War, in view of the fact that a scheme for the employment of quartermasters of the late Royal Engineers Volunteer Corps is under consideration, whether he will issue instructions that the steps which are now being taken to transfer these officers to the unattached list shall be discontinued pending a decision.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) According to the existing establishments there is no provision for these officers in the Territorial Force. Any, therefore, who have expressed their desire to transfer their services can only be placed on the unattached list. Only one such application has as yet reached the War Office.
