I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War what is the average total cost to the State of a Special Reservist from the date of his enlistment until the conclusion of his six months preliminary training.

The average total cost of an Infantry Special Reservist, from the date of his enlistment to the end of his six months recruit drill, is £27 19s. 6d., including his clothing outfit and the bounty of £1 10s. payable on the termination of six months drill.
