HC Deb 26 May 1908 vol 189 cc953-4
MR. BOLAND (Kerry, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he can state what steps, if any, have been taken to reinstate Denis T. Sheehan, an evicted tenant, now living at Tiromoile, Cahirciveen, in his old holding.

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. BIRRELL,) Bristol, N.

The Estates Commissioners consider the applicant to be a suitable person to receive a holding in the event of their acquiring untenanted land in the locality, and the case has been referred to an inspector with the object of providing the applicant with a holding if possible.

MR. MOORE (Armagh, N.)

Is this evicted tenant to go unprovided for while a Member of this House is given a farm and a grant?

MR. BIRRELL

I hope not.
