HC Deb 26 May 1908 vol 189 cc951-2
MR. ELLIS DAVIES (Carnarvonshire, Eifion)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury if he will state in what parish or parishes in the county of Carnarvon the 403 acres of Crown lands which are not subject to rights of common are situate; and whether any, and, if so, what, portion of the land is of such a nature as could be adapted for afforestation.

MR. HOBHOUSE

I am informed that the 403 acres are in the parish of Bettws Garmon. A slate vein runs through the property, on which there is a quarry. It is not considered suitable for afforestation. The land, apart from the quarry, is all let in small holdings.
