HC Deb 25 May 1908 vol 189 c737
MR. MCKEAN (Monaghan, S.)

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he will state the cause of the delay in reinstating the evicted tenants on the Leslie estate, Ballybay, County Monaghan; and if he will urge on the Estates Commissioners the necessity of proceeding with the work.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners are endeavouring to effect the reinstatement of three evicted tenants on this estate. They have informed the owner of the advances they are prepared to make. In one case he has stated that he is willing to accept the price offered, and in the other two he has not yet replied. The Commissioners will endeavour to bring the matter to a conclusion.
