§ MR. HUNTTo ask the Secretary of State for War whether, even if the 476 men for the Territorial Army are forthcoming, there are at present only about half the number of horses required, including those which are registered.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane). Approximately 124,000 horses are required to mobilise the Territorial Force. There is no doubt that there are more than enough suitable horses in the United Kingdom to meet this requirement, exclusive of those registered for the Regular Army.
