HC Deb 21 May 1908 vol 189 c475
SIR BERKELEY SHEFFIELD (Lincolnshire, Brigg)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether he is prepared to grant facilities to non-commissioned officers and men of good conduct serving in India, or on foreign service, for the means of returning home on furlough, as enjoyed by commissioned officers, in view of the fact that such a privilege would stimulate their re-engagement with the colours.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane). The matter is still under consideration with the India Office.
