TO ask the Secretary of State for War if he can say what has been the result of his communications with the Board of Agriculture as to the best methods for encouraging the breeding of horses for the Army; and whether he will, for the information of horse-breeders and the benefit of the Army, formulate a scheme before the close of this session.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) I am not yet in a position to state the result of the negotiations with the Board of Agriculture, nor can I at present undertake to give a date by which a scheme will have been formulated.
