To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether it is proposed to increase this year the salaries of any of the medical inspectors under the Local Government Board for Ireland; if so, by what amount., for what reason, and under what regulation; and the names, present salaries, and length of service of the inspectors in their present appointments.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The reply to the first part of the Question is in the negative. The salary of each of the present medical inspectors is £700 a year. Their names and length of service are: T. J. Growne, nineteen years; C. J. Clibborn, seventeen years; D. Edgar Flinn, ten years; Sir J. A. MacCullagh, ten years; E. Coey Bigger, eight years; Brendan MacCarthy, six years; and Joseph Smyth, six years.
