HC Deb 18 May 1908 vol 188 c1605
SIR. WILLIAM BULL

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for India if he has any official information about the death of Mr. Mehta, of the Indian Civil Service, who is reported to have met with his death about four weeks ago from a gunshot wound; whether it was the result of an accident or of a premeditated act on the part of sonic natives; and, if the latter be the case, what action has been taken by the local Government to trace the crime.

(Answered by Mr. Buchanan.) It was reported to the Secretary of State that Mr. B. R. Mehta, of the Indian Civil Service, to whom I presume the Question is intended to refer, died of a gunshot wound on 17th March. The inquiry which was held indicated that it was a case of suicide.
