HC Deb 14 May 1908 vol 188 cc1348-9
MR. DELANY

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has received a copy of a resolution passed by the Rosenallis, Queen's County, branch of the United Irish League, calling attention to the inadequacy of the reductions given in the Land Sub-Commission Court in Queen's County by Messrs. Tuckey and Hawkins; can he say whether he has already received complaints with regard to the action of those two officials; and what steps he proposes taking with regard to them.

MR. BIRRELL

The Land Law Acts provide that if either party to a case is dissatisfied with an order of the Sub-Commission fixing a fair rent he can apply to have the ease reheard by the Appeal Court in the manner prescribed by statute. The decisions of Sub-Commission Courts are judicial decisions with which the Government have no power to interfere.
