To ask Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will state what steps are being taken for the withdrawal of defaced and worn silver coin from circulation in Ireland.

(Answered by Mr. Lloyd-George.) The Mint authorities are in communication with the principal banks in Ireland with a view to improving the arrangements at present in operation for the withdrawal of such coin from circulation.
