HC Deb 24 March 1908 vol 186 c1194
MR. JAMES O'CONNOR (Wicklow, W.)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that in November last Mr. Slidders, of Broughty Ferry, appealed to him for mitigation of punishment; that he has received no reply to his petition; and whether he will inquire into the case.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) Postman Slidder's case was carefully reviewed, in connection with appeals from him in February, March and October, 1907; and on the last occasion he was definitely told that he was to regard the reply as final. In these circumstances I was not prepared to reopen the case in November last when he again submitted an appeal to me.
