§ MR. RICHARDSON (Nottingham, S.)I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware that upon a man, for family reasons or otherwise, converting his business into a limited liability company he is at once disfranchised in respect to such premises; and if he will consider as to the practicability of so amending the law that a limited liability company by its directors, under its own seal, may appoint one representative who would thereupon be able to serve and vote in regard to such premises.
§ THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. JOHN BURNS,) BatterseaPerhaps I may answer this Question. I am aware that a company cannot exercise the franchise, notwithstanding that it owns or occupies premises, the ownership or occupation of which would in the case of an individual confer a right of voting; but I am not able to promise to introduce legislation on the subject.
