To ask the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies if he can state the total amount spent on the construction and equipment of the Uganda Railway; and whether all works connected with the railway are mow completed.

(Answered by Mr. Churchill.) The total sum issued out of the Consolidated Fund for the construction and equipment of the Uganda Railway is £5,502,592. Of this sum about £5,300,000 in round numbers has been expended, leaving a balance of some £200,000, which is being expended on capital works connected with the railway.
