§ MR. REESTo ask the Secretary of State for India whether the programme of railway construction includes any provision for a bridge across the Ganges at Sara Ghaut or across the Hooghly at Caluctta.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Morley.) Provision is made in. the programme of railway construction for expenditure on a bridge over the Lower Ganges, but the site has not been definitely settled. No provision is made for a bridge over the Hooghly at Calcutta.
