HC Deb 10 March 1908 vol 185 cc1290-1
MR. CROSSLEY (Cheshire, Altrincham)

To ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether he will grant a Return (relating to county boroughs) of the retail licences for spirits or wine dealers granted by the Excise for premises which are exclusively used for the sale of intoxicating liquors or of intoxicating liquors and mineral waters or other non-intoxicating drinks, and which have no internal communication with the premises of any person who is carrying on any other trade or business, with particulars for each borough.

(Answered by Mr. Runciman.) The Return could not be given without the expenditure of an amount of time and labour quite disproportionate to the value of the information to be derived from it.
