FIELDTo ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that only £3,939 was expended by the Board of Works up to 10th February, 1907, out of the special building grant of £40,000, which was voted in addition to the usual Vote of about £30,000 per annum; whether he can explain the delay in expending this earmarked money; whether he is aware that it is voted to immediately remedy the unsanitary and unsafe condition of many existing national schools, and to provide better accommodation for children in Ireland; and whether he can state what steps he is prepared to take to compel the Board of Works to carry out the orders of Parliament.

Member gave notice of the Question, I have given a very full Answer to a Question on the subject put by the hon. Member for North Kildare on 27th February. If the hon. Member will refer to that Answer, he will see that no avoidable delay has taken place in the departments of the Board of Works or the Commissioners of National Education in connection with the work of school building.
