HC Deb 09 March 1908 vol 185 cc1129-30
MR. SMEATON

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether having regard to the fact that the Tobacco Growing (Scotland) Bill was read a second time in the House nemine contradicente, and having regard also to the fact that, as experience has proved elsewhere, tobacco cultivation on small holdings is highly remunerative, he will consent to add clauses in another place to the Small Landholders (Scotland) Bill, authorising and encouraging, by the offer of gifts or loans of money, the cultivation of tobacco.

MR. SINCLAIR

I must ask my hon. friend to postpone this Question until Parliament has dealt with the Tobacco Growing (Scotland) Bill to which he refers.
