HC Deb 09 March 1908 vol 185 cc1092-3
MR. CHARLES ROBERTS (Lincoln)

To ask the Postmaster-General, whether the Post Office have any news of certain registered letters posted to New York per "Celtic," sailing on 22nd January, and arriving on 30th January, which letters are undelivered and are missing; and what steps are being taken to trace the same.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) I regret to find that certain registered letters sent to New York by the packet "Celtic" on 22nd of January, have failed to be delivered. There is every reason to believe that the letters were duly forwarded from this country, and I have already made urgent representations on the subject to the Post Office of the United States.
