HC Deb 04 March 1908 vol 185 c663
SIR GEORGE DOUGHTY (Great Grimsby)

To ask the Secretary of State for War whether the guns to be supplied to the field artillery of the Territorial Force are ready for distribution; when will they be distributed to the field artillery brigade at Grimsby, Boston, and Louth; and whether, if the whole of the guns cannot now be sent, two guns per battery will be forwarded to each of the places mentioned, in order that drill may be commenced as soon as possible.

(Answered by Mr. Secretary Haldane.) These guns are not yet ready for distribution, but sufficient will be completed this month for an issue of one gun per brigade, and such issue is now proceeding. The conversion and issue of the remainder will be carried out rapidly during the coming financial year, by the end of which, as I have previously explained to the House, it is proposed to issue all the guns required.
