The reduction has been made because of the establishment of the Queen Victoria School at Edinburgh which fulfils a similar purpose to the Duke of York's School. The expenditure upon it quite absorbs any saving made upon the latter school.

§ MR. HALDANEI cannot answer that, but there will now be three schools—the Duke of York's, the Hibernian, and the Queen Victoria School.
