HC Deb 29 June 1908 vol 191 cc352-3
MR. LONSDALE (Armagh, Mid.)

I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies whether representations have been made by the Australian Commonwealth Government that the delay in approving of the naval defence scheme, submitted early in the year, is placing them in a position of great difficulty; and whether he can state when the decision of His Majesty's Government will be communicated to the Commonwealth Government.

COLONEL SEELY

No such representations have been made. The Commonwealth Government are aware that His Majesty's Government are endeavouring to settle the question in the manner indicated in the reply given by my right hon. friend the First Lord of the Admiralty last Monday to a Question by the right hon. Member for East Worcestershire.
