HC Deb 25 June 1908 vol 191 c69
MR. GILL (Bolton)

To ask the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that a female telephonist at Bolton, who has been performing supervising duty for two years without any allowance, has now been passed over by a junior, who is to receive 4s. per week allowance; whether he is aware that the officer passed over has not had a single complaint or irregularity urged against her, and that the only reason given to her is that she is too friendly with the staff; and whether he will make full inquiry into the matter.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) I have received no appeal from the telephonist concerned. I am fully aware of the circumstances of the case, and am satisfied that no injustice was done.
