HC Deb 01 June 1908 vol 189 cc1530-1
MR. O'SHAUGHNESSY

To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland if he can say whether the Estates Commissioners have received a resolution from the Ardagh branch of the United Irish League, calling on them to take immediate steps to reinstate James Doody, of Ardagh, one of the evicted tenants on the Atkinson estate, in his former holding, or, if that cannot be done, to provide him with a farm on the un-tenanted land at Beaufort as an equivalent; and, if so, will he state what action do they propose to take in the matter.

(Answered by Mr. Birrell.) The Estates Commissioners have referred this case to their inspector with the object of providing the applicant with a holding if one can be found for him.
