HC Deb 30 July 1908 vol 193 cc1736-7
MR. DUNDAS WHITE (Dumbartonshire)

To ask the Prime Minister whether he will consider the advisability of establishing, as a general practice, in the printing of Government Bills and Acts of Parliament to which schedules are attached, that there should be inserted opposite each schedule as a marginal note a reference, to the section or sections which contain references to that schedule.

(Answered by Mr. Asquith.) I will consider this question. There is no doubt that the practice could be followed as regards Acts. The only difficulty as regards Bills is the practical difficulty of keeping the references correct when Bills have to be reprinted without delay after their various stages in Parliament.
