HC Deb 27 July 1908 vol 193 c818
MR. HAROLD COX

To ask the President of the Local Government Board whether his attention has been called to any inventions for recording the speed of motor-cars and for automatically shutting off the engine and applying the brake at a given speed; and whether he will cause an examination to be made of any such apparatus submitted to him, with a view to determining whether it is likely to prove suitable for compulsory use.

(Answered by Mr. John Burns.) My attention has not been called to inventions of the kind mentioned by my hon. friend. I should be ready to cause any such inventions to be examined if they were submitted to me.
