HC Deb 21 July 1908 vol 192 c1697
MR. LAIDLAW (Renfrewshire, E.)

To ask the Under-Secretary of State for India if the recommendations of the Committee appointed by Lord Curzon to inquire into the position of the Government clerks who remain in Simla during the winter, and which reported in 1905, have yet been carried out; if not, what is the cause of the delay and what are the intentions of the Government of India regarding them.

(Answered by Mr. Buchanan.) The proposals of the Government of India regarding the Government clerks who are permanently settled in Simla, and do not move between that place and Calcutta, have not yet reached me. I will inquire when they may be expected.
