I beg to ask the Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies what was the number of deaths among the Chinese coolies in the Transvaal during the month of June, 1908; how many were repatriated during that month; and how many remained in the country on 30th June.

I understand that twenty-seven died and one was repatriated. There remained 21,636 on 30th June.
