HC Deb 15 July 1908 vol 192 c831
MR. WATT (Glasgow, College)

To ask the Postmaster-General what was the extent in money of the contracts placed for uniforms, clothing, caps, etc., for use in his Department in Scotland in the year 1907; and how much of that sum was placed with Scottish firms having their premises in Scotland.

(Answered by Mr. Sydney Buxton.) Separate contracts are not made for the stores of this kind required in Scotland. Their cost in 1907–8 was about £21,000. The sums paid for such stores to firms in Scotland was about £3,200, but these stores of Scottish manufacture would be used anywhere in the United Kingdom, not necessarily in Scotland.
