HC Deb 08 July 1908 vol 191 c1654
MR. REES

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether an arrangement will be made for the manufacture of uniforms for Welsh regiments in Wales, similar to that which has been made in respect to the manufacture of tartans in Scotland for Scottish regiments.

MR. ACLAND

There is no arrangement for the manufacture of Highland tartan in Scotland, but only Scottish firms appear to produce it. As I have already informed my hon. friend, should any Welsh manufacturers desire to tender for Army clothes, the War Office would be glad to receive applications.

COLONEL LOCKWOOD (Essex, Epping)

Will the right hon. Gentleman see that the uniforms for the Essex regiments are made in Essex?
