HC Deb 06 July 1908 vol 191 c1260
SIR FRANCIS CHANNING

I beg to ask the Prime Minister whether, having regard to its bearing upon the questions of the aged poor and of the unemployed, he will represent to the Chairman of the Royal Commission on the Poor Law the urgent importance of the Report being laid before Parliament this year.

MR. ASQUITH

My right hon. friend the President of the Local Government Board stated on 20th May that the Royal Commission were not without hope that they might be able to present their Report in the autumn, but that it was impossible to give a precise date by which it would be issued. I cannot at present add anything to that.
