HC Deb 06 July 1908 vol 191 cc1259-60
MR. GOULDING (Worcester)

I beg to ask the Prime Minister whether, in allotting the Committee of Supply, he will arrange for the Board of Trade Vote, in order that attention may be called to the divergent statements regarding the cost of living in Germany contained in the Report of the Board of Trade just issued compared with the Reports of the British consuls in Germany.

THE PRIME MINISTER AND FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. ASQUITH,) Fifeshire, E.

The Board of Trade do not admit that there is any such divergence as is suggested in the Question. I am sure that they will be ready to consider any statements which the hon. Member or others may submit to them.

MR. GOULDING

Will the right hon. Gentleman in allocating days to Supply set one apart for this Vote especially in view of the depression of trade in this country?

MR. ASQUITH

I cannot yet say what Votes will be taken.
