HC Deb 01 July 1908 vol 191 c777
SIR F. BANBURY (City of London)

asked the Prime Minister what had become of the Budget. When did the right hon. Gentleman propose to take the Committee stage of the Finance Bill, and did he propose to take it under the guillotine?

MR. ASQUITH

The House, by the Second Reading of the Finance Bill, has affirmed all the principles contained in the Budget. The Committee stage of the Finance Bill remains, and will be taken in the usual course, and according to the ordinary methods of procedure.
