§ CAPTAIN CRAIG (Down, E.)To ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieu tenant of Ireland, whether he can state if the Commissioners of National Education, Ireland, have issued any revised instructions to inspectors with regard to the inspection of schools, and especially as to individual examination; and, if so, have copies been forwarded to managers and teachers.
(Answered by Mr. Cherry.) The Commissioners of National Education inform me that revised instructions to inspectors in regard to the inspection of schools and the individual examination of pupils were issued in 1902. Copies of these instructions were supplied to the managers and teachers of national schools. Another circular relating to the inspection of schools was similarly issued in 1903 to inspectors and managers.
CAPTAIN CRAIGTo ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland, how many schools in Circuit 8B have earned the marks excellent, very good, good, fair, and middling, respectively, for the years ending 30th June 1902, 1903, 1904, 1905, 1906, and 1907, respectively.
(Answered by Mr. Cherry.) The Commissioners of National Education inform me that they see grave objections to furnishing a Return of the particulars asked for in the Question.
