§ MR. REESTo ask the Secretary of State for India what proportion of the total number of civil and magisterial cases tried in India is disposed of by judges and magistrates who are natives of India and what proportion by Judges and magistrates who do not answer to that description.
(Answered by Mr. Secretary Morley.) It is impossible to give with accuracy the information for which the hon. Member asks, as the judicial statistics do not classify the work of the Courts according to the nationality of the presiding officers; but it is safe to say that by far the larger number of cases are disposed of by Indian Judges.
