MR. HICKS BEACH (Gloucestershire, Tewkesbury)

To ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he is aware that the Argentine has, owing to the recent outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, refused to admit cattle exported from Scotland to her ports; and whether he can assure the House that every possible precaution has been taken to prevent the spread of the disease to England.

(Answered by Sir Edward Strachey.) The Answer to both Questions is in the affirmative.
