§ MR. DELANY (Queen's County, Ossory)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury if he is aware that an application was made to the Treasury a short time ago substantially to increase the salary of the staff officer-in-charge in the miscellaneous division of the Board of Works, Dublin; and, considering that this officer is by many years the junior of his grade in the secretary's department, and that his work is no more important than that performed by the other three senior staff officers, and its magnitude is very considerably less than that of the other staff officers in the secretariat, can he say whether this application is to be acceded to.
