HC Deb 06 February 1908 vol 183 c1073
EARL PERCY (Kensington, S.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether His Majesty's Government, having decided that they will no longer prohibit the entry into this country of bounty-fed sugar, have addressed any representations to the Russian Government with a view to the removal of the duties originally imposed by them upon imports of Indian tea viâ the Black Sea route, in consequence of the accession of Great Britain to the Brussels Sugar Convention.

SIR EDWARD GREY

Representations were made to the Russian Government a few days ago.

MR. HIGHAM (Yorkshire, W.R., Sowerby)

was understood to ask whether there was any truth in the statement that Germany is likely to depart from the Convention?

SIR EDWARD GREY

No, Sir.
