HC Deb 03 February 1908 vol 183 cc519-20
MR. PIKE PEASE (Darlington)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he can give an estimate of the amount of damage caused to British property at Casablanca and other towns in Morocco.

MR. RUNCIMAN

My right hon. friend has not sufficient information to enable him to give even an approximate estimate of the damage done at Casablanca. It would in any case be undesirable to do so, as it will be the duty of the International Commission which is to meet at that port to assess the amount of the damage. As far as my right hon. friend is aware no damage has recently been caused to British property at any other town in Morocco.
