HC Deb 17 December 1908 vol 198 c2062
MR. GULLAND (Dumfries Burghs)

To ask the President of the Local Government Board whether a woman aged eighty, who has lived for seventy-two years in this country, is not eligible for an old-age pension, even though eight out of the last twenty years have been spent in Australia.

(Answered by Mr. John Burns.) Yes, Sir. A claimant who during the last twenty years resided for eight years or more in Australia would be disqualified for an old-age pension.
