HC Deb 16 December 1908 vol 198 c1838
SIR WALTER FOSTER (Derbyshire, Ilkeston)

To ask the hon. Member for South Somerset, as representing the President of the Board of Agriculture, whether he can now state what steps, if any, have been taken by the county council of Derbyshire to satisfy the 153 applicants for small holdings in the county of Derby; and, if no steps have been taken, whether the Board of Agriculture will take measures to inquire into the causes of the delay.

(Answered by Sir Edward Strachey.) The county council are endeavouring to obtain land for the suitable applicants, and the Board have recently urged upon them the importance of doing so without any further delay.
