HC Deb 02 April 1908 vol 187 cc689-90
MR. GULLAND (Dumfries Burghs)

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether he has made inquiries into the circumstances attending the recent death of a boy at Stranraer, which has been attributed to poisoning due to chocolate sweets eaten by him; and, if so, whether the inquiries throw any light on the cause of death.

THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. THOMAS SHAW,) Hawick Burghs

Full inquiries have been made regarding this case. The contents of the boy's stomach and intestines have been subjected to analysis without the slightest trace of poison being found. The Answer to the second part of the Question is in the negative.
