HC Deb 29 May 1907 vol 174 cc1655-6
SIR H. COTTON

I beg to ask the Prime Minister whether, having regard to the character of the interests involved, to the anxiety felt in this House and in the country regarding the present position of affairs in India, to the fact that the debate on the Budget is the only occasion afforded to the House to discuss Indian subjects, and to the importance of allowing the Secretary of State an opportunity of making a full reply to the questions raised, he will allow the discussion on the Indian Budget this year to be extended over two days.

THE PRIME MINISTER AND FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Sir H. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN,) Stirling Burghs

I think one day should suffice —it will be a full day—unless in the meantime new incidents should arise, which I hope will not be the case.
