I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland if his attention has been called to the unanimous recommendation of the Convention of Royal Burghs of Scotland that private slaughter-houses should be abolished and public abattoirs substituted; and if he will take steps, in view of that recommendation, to carry out the suggestion.
