HC Deb 16 May 1907 vol 174 cc1103-4
MR. WATT

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland if he will see that all carcases of swine slaughtered in Ireland for export to Scotland are inspected in accordance with the recommendation of the Local Government Board, namely, that the presence of tubercular deposit in any degree should involve seizure of the whole carcase and organs; and, if the carcases and organs cannot be inspected by competent inspectors in Ireland, will he take steps to prevent the flesh being sold in Scotland for human food.

MR. SHAW

With regard to the first part of my hon. friend's Question, I must ask him to apply to the Chief Secretary for Ireland. With regard to the second part it is not proposed to alter the system established by the Public Health Act, 1897.
