HC Deb 15 May 1907 vol 174 c966
MR. BOLAND

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is now in a position to say what decision has been come with reference to the construction of a pier at Reenard, county Kerry.

MR. BIRRELL

The Irish Government have provisionally approved of a scheme for improving the existing pier accommodation at Reenard Point at an estimated cost of £2,500. A plan of the proposed scheme has been prepared by the Board of Works, and the Government are now in communication with the county council and the Congested Districts Board as to the fufilment by these bodies of the requirements of the Marine Works Act. As soon as the necessary assurances on this point have been received the sanction of the Treasury will be applied for.
