HC Deb 14 May 1907 vol 174 c784
MR. O'GRADY (Leeds, E.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for India whether, having regard to the fact that the political agitation in India has for its purpose the desire of the educated Indians, Mahomedans, and Hindus to participate in the government of their own country, he will give instructions that Mr. Lajpatrai, the pleader of the Punjab chief court, who has been recently deported, shall be given a public trial.

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIA (Mr. MORLEY,) Montrose Burghs

I made a very full statement on this subject yesterday, and I have nothing to add to, or take from, it.
